Racing Against the Tide: The Malle Beach Race 2025

The Malle Beach Race 2025 roared into Margate Sands on May 3–4, transforming the Kent coastline into a vibrant celebration of unconventional motorcycle culture. Dubbed “The Inappropriate Motorcycle Beach Race,” the event brought together over 200 riders piloting an eclectic mix of custom, classic, electric, and off-road machines in a series of spirited competitions.

Saturday’s low tide unveiled the perfect sandy track for a variety of races:

  • The Sprint: An eighth-mile head-to-head dash.

  • The Double: A quarter-mile race featuring a turnaround at a marker before the finish.

  • The Malle Go Round: A circular circuit with a Le Mans-style running start.

  • MotoPolo: A unique blend of motorcycle racing and polo.

The day concluded with the Hedon•ist Podium After Party, offering live DJ sets and a festive atmosphere on the beach

Sunday featured the Malle Rally 100, a 100-mile road rally through the picturesque Kent countryside. Open to motorcycles and classic/custom cars, participants navigated six checkpoints before returning to Margate Promenade for the finish .

More Than a Race

Founded by cousins Robert Nightingale and Jonny Cazzola, Malle London has cultivated a community that values camaraderie and adventure over competition. As Nightingale notes, “The focus is on completing, not competing… no one is expected to win, in fact, we’ll all lose together, in style” .
